In Good Company offers private chef services throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts, including private dining experiences for special occasions, vacations, and celebrations. We proudly serve clients throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, including Newport, Bristol, Barrington, Portsmouth, Narragansett, Westerly, Rehoboth, and Westport, along with the surrounding coastal communities. We also love traveling to Cape Cod, especially during the summer months. If your event is more than an hour outside our home base, a small travel fee will apply, but we're always happy to discuss bringing In Good Company to your celebration, wherever it may be.

Working with us feels less like hiring a vendor and more like having a friend in the kitchen who happens to be a professional chef. We're communicative from the very first message, easy to reach when you have questions, and genuinely excited about making your event feel special. On the day itself, we handle everything, planning, shopping, cooking, and cleanup, so you can relax and actually be present with your guests instead of stuck behind the scenes. But don't just take our word for it, check out our reviews to hear directly from past clients.

That's completely normal, and honestly where most of our clients start. Once your deposit is received, we'll send over a few questions about you, your group, or the guest of honor, favorites, dislikes, allergies, and anything else that helps us get to know your taste. We also use what's local and in season to help guide the menu. From there, we create a custom menu for your approval, and you get three rounds of revisions to make it perfect for you, though most people end up loving the first version.

Simply fill out our inquiry form on the website with your event details. We respond within 48 hours to confirm your date is available. From there, we'll send over an invoice, and once your deposit is received, your date is officially secured on our calendar.
-
Yes, we require a deposit of $250 or 20% of your total, whichever is higher. This acts as a retainer, which means it's non-refundable if you need to cancel for any reason. The deposit secures your date on our calendar so no one else can book it, and allows us to get started on menu planning and any early logistics for your event such as rentals.

Please let us know about any allergies or dietary restrictions as early as possible, ideally when you first reach out. We take allergies seriously and will work with you to design a menu that's both safe and delicious for everyone at your table. Chef Danielle is ServSafe allergen certified and also lives with severe food allergies of her own, so she understands firsthand how important it is to get this right. We want you to feel safe and taken care of.
-
No, we take care of everything. From planning the menu to grocery shopping, prepping, and cooking, the only thing you need to do is show up hungry.
-
Yes, we bring everything we need to prepare your meal, so you don't have to worry about having the right pots, pans, or tools on hand.
-
We're happy to help coordinate rentals for plates, glassware, linens, or anything else your event might need, whether you're going for a specific theme, something seasonal, or you're just not sure if your Airbnb or rental has matching plates and cutlery. We can set you up with a company we've worked with before, and help make sure everything comes together seamlessly. This service is an add-on and is not included in your dinner pricing.

We don't carry a liquor license, but every dinner comes with a signature welcome drink, a mocktail made from freshly squeezed juices and mixers that's delicious on its own or mixed with alcohol. We'll ask about your favorite spirit and craft a seasonal drink designed to pair perfectly with it, complete with garnishes and a drink dispenser for easy refills throughout the evening. If you'd like, we can mix in the alcohol you provide, or leave it on the side so guests can pour their own. We're also happy to offer wine pairing suggestions for your dinner, though we don't supply the wine or hard alcohol itself.
-
Yes, absolutely. We always leave your space cleaner than we found it. That means loading the dishwasher, putting everything away, and making sure your kitchen looks like we were never there, except for the leftovers, which we pack up for you if there are any left.
